Patellofemoral Pain

Many things can cause the kneecap (patella) to not track well as the knee moves. This can be caused by overuse, trauma, osteoarthritis, laxity in the ligaments, muscle dysfunction or unfavourable bony anatomy. Because of this wide variety of causes, at The Re:PAIR Clinic we’ve moved away from the old term ‘patellofemoral pain syndrome’ and look to find out and treat what really is going on.

Pain at the front of the knee
Worsened on squatting, using stairs, kneeling
Popping or clicking sound in the knee
Swelling in the knee
Locking of the knee
Stiffness
