What is Arthrosamid®?
Arthrosamid® is a next-generation injectable treatment for knee osteoarthritis, offering long-lasting pain relief without the risks or recovery time associated with surgery. Unlike traditional steroid or hyaluronic acid injections, Arthrosamid® is a non-biodegradable hydrogel that integrates into the joint lining, cushioning the knee and improving lubrication.
At The Re:PAIR Clinic, our musculoskeletal experts use Arthrosamid® as part of a broader approach to joint preservation and functional recovery. Whether you're trying to stay active, delay surgery, or simply reduce daily pain, Arthrosamid® offers a safe and evidence-based option with enduring results.

FAQs
1) How is Arthrosamid® different from steroid or hyaluronic acid injections?
It offers longer-lasting relief by physically reinforcing the joint lining, without the metabolic risks of steroids or the temporary effects of HA.

2) How soon will I feel better?
Many patients report improvement within 4–8 weeks, with peak effect at around 3 months.
3) How long does it last?
Clinical studies show benefits lasting up to 5 years in many patients.
4) Can I have it again?
In most cases, no repeat is needed. If symptoms return, we can reassess and explore options including second injection, PRP, or surgical referral.

How does Arthrosamid® work?
Arthrosamid® is made of 2.5% cross-linked polyacrylamide and 97.5% water. Once injected into the knee joint, the gel becomes embedded in the synovial membrane, helping to reduce inflammation, restore the joint’s natural biomechanics, and provide long-term cushioning.
-
Minimally invasive – outpatient procedure with no general anaesthetic
-
Long-lasting relief – many patients report sustained pain reduction for up to 5 years
-
Safe profile – no steroid or metal components; minimal systemic absorption
-
One-time treatment – unlike steroid or HA injections, Arthrosamid® may not need repeating
Who is Arthrosamid® for?
Arthrosamid® is suitable for adults with mild to moderate knee osteoarthritis who:
-
Are looking to delay or avoid knee replacement surgery
-
Have not responded well to physiotherapy or other conservative treatments
-
Prefer a non-surgical, regenerative approach
-
Are active and wish to maintain mobility and independence
It is not suitable for those with joint infections, recent intra-articular steroid injections (within 3 months), or severely unstable joints.
